Work started
Letting the deck dry before filling the soft spots. Let air dry for 1
- 2 months before filling. Filling a deck in this manner only works if the wood
fiber structure is still intact. If the wood has been saturated for too long it will
not work because the wood is wet rotten mush. Removal of the deck top and replacing the
wood is then required.
Doing some planning on the placement of two forward facing
windows.
Ground out a dish at every fill hole, then filled with short hair resin filler.
Still need to fill some blemishes with Interlux Watertite Epoxy
Filler before priming the deck with Interlux 404/414 Primekote.
The 404/414 Primekote is the best product I have ever used for a filler of crazed jell coat and surfaces with aged blemishes.
Opened up the blisters, still need to grind out the de-laminated fiberglass.
